California lawmakers are taking steps this month to move forward with a bill that would expand overtime pay to workers previously not covered, despite moves by federal regulators to stall a larger nationwide effort advanced by the Obama administration. The California Senate is set to examine Assembly-passed bill, AB 1565, later in June. The statute, if passed, would require businesses to extend overtime pay to any salaried employee that makes less than $47,476 annually, the East Bay Times reports....
