A flash-flood watch for the North Bay interior valleys and mountains is scheduled to go into effect Wednesday as the wettest rainstorm of the season moves into the region, officials said. The flash-flood watch is set to begin at 4 p.m. Wednesday and last until at least 3 a.m. on Thursday, according to the National Weather Service. “We’re expecting a series of heavy rains, in some areas around about half an inch per hour,” said Anna Schneider, a meteorologist for the weather service office in Monterey.
