Cable trade association accuses Comcast of forcing small firms to raise prices

A Pittsburgh-based trade association representing 750 independent cable companies filed a report with the FCC this week that claims Comcast limits small- and medium-sized operators from selling the basic cable-broadband tier package in its contracts for broadcasting its regional sports networks. The American Cable Association issued the report on behalf of its roughly 750 members, who provide broadband services for nearly 7 million cable subscribers in mostly rural and smaller suburban markets....
