A pedestrian was struck and killed by a car near the Posey Tube in Oakland Wednesday night, officials said. Oakland Police responded to the incident just before 11 p.m. The pedestrian — a man whose name was not immediately released — was struck in the 700 block of Harrison Street, near where traffic emerges from the tube, which crosses under the Oakland Estuary from Alameda. The car that hit the man was headed northeast on the Harrison Street, about three-quarters of a mile from the Posey Tube, when he hit the man, police said.
