Ford-owned transit innovator Chariot to shut down, leaving S.F. commuters in the lurch

Chariot will abruptly shut down all transit services by Feb. 1, a move that affects thousands of riders in San Francisco and elsewhere, the company said in a blog post. Chariot, a San Francisco company that emerged from Y Combinator's Winter 2015 batch and acquired by Ford in 2016, provides a commuter service with its turquoise vans that travel on designated routes.
