Redwood City startup gets $30M to expand corporate food deliveries

Redwood City-based Eat Club has raised a $30 million Series C, which it plans to use to expand into New York City, its third major market, Bloomberg reports. The latest round was led by food service giant Sodexo, with participation from existing investors August Capital and Trinity Ventures. One of Eat Club’s stated goals is to disrupt, and eventually replace, office cafeterias. It seems Sodexo, which built part of its business on running corporate and school cafeterias, agrees.
