Ameris Bancorp (Nasdaq: ABCB) entered into a merger agreement to acquire Georgia-based Fidelity Southern Corporation (Nasdaq: LION) Monday for $750.7 million, or $27.22 per share. The agreement was unanimously approved by the boards of both companies. Fidelity's shareholders will receive 0.8 Ameris shares per Fidelity share.
