Georgia to build second inland port to bolster Savannah

Georgia is getting a second inland port to facilitate the movement of cargo by rail to and from the Port of Savannah, Gov. Nathan Deal announced Monday. The Northeast Georgia Inland Port will be built near Gainesville, Ga. When completed in 2021, it will have the capacity to handle up to 150,000 containers per year.
