St. Johns River Ferry will be suspended eight weeks during fall

The St. Johns River Ferry will be removed from service for eight weeks, from Sep. 4 through Oct. 31, while the Jacksonville Transportation Authority replaces terminal bridges and performs necessary maintenance. The ferry offers daily car and passenger transport between the north and south ends of Florida State Road A1A between Mayport Village and Ft. George Island. JTA is in the midst of a project to update the ferry's infrastructure by constructing bulkheads, replacing terminal bridges and more....
