Three-time securities fraudster from Delco gets 5 years in prison

A Delaware County man will spend five years behind bars following his latest conviction for convicted for securities fraud offenses – the third time he has dealt with such charges. Howard M. Appel, 57, of Wayne, Pa., was also ordered by U.S. District Judge Paul S. Diamond to three years of supervised release, a $200,000 fine and a forfeiture payment of $3.9 million. Appel has been in jail since pleading guilty in August to one count of conspiracy to commit securities fraud. A licensed stock...
