Flintco quadruples spend on hard hats, opts for cycling-inspired brand

The contractor doing the second most work in Memphis has switched to hard hats based on bicycle helmets. Flintco spent $20,000 last year purchasing 130 Kask helmets, which is four times the amount it used to spend per helmet. "We wanted to be a little bit of an innovator," said Tim Wallin, Flintco's local safety manager. "The [Kask] impact resistance is twice what the old [helmet was]."
