IP board member retires

A board member for one of Memphis’ largest public companies has retired. According to a Jan. 2 filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Admiral Jay L. Johnson retired from International Paper Co.’s (IP) board of directors effective Dec. 31, 2018. A director has to retire from the company’s board the year he or she hits 72 years old. Johnson joined IP’s board Oct. 1, 2013, after retiring from defense contractor General Dynamics as chairman and CEO in December 2012....
